Grove Barn, this converted stone barn was once the dairy, dating back to the 1700s. It has been beautifully renovated, retaining all its original character, 1 of 3 holiday homes set in almost 2 acres of terraced and landscaped grounds up a sweeping driveway above the tranquil seaside town of Llansteffan, largely unchanged by time yet only 8 miles outside the County town of Carmarthen with its excellent facilities. Steps lead up to a walkway leading into the spacious first floor open plan living space. Furnished in a contemporary style yet retaining its original character, the A frame beams and wooden floors are complimented by the modern fitted kitchen area and large comfy sofas to relax on. Stairs lead down to the delightful ground floor bedrooms.

Spend your days wandering the wonderful landscaped and terraced grounds or lazing by the elevated heated outdoor pool while you marvel at the breathtaking view over the beach and Towy estuary.

A perfect holiday base for a couple or family whatever the time of year to explore this wonderful part of Carmarthenshire.

Due to Covid-19, the pool will be available on a rota system from the 8th August 2020 for all guests shared between all 3 cottages.

The Grove is a group of 3 holiday cottages, dating back to the 1700’s, set at the end of a sweeping drive in the midst of almost 2 acres of beautifully maintained, terraced grounds above the unspoilt seaside town of Llansteffan, on the shores of the Towy estuary. Breathtaking sweeping views can be enjoyed over the tranquil town to the beautiful sandy beach and sea. Steps and paths lead up through the shared terraced grounds with a large sloping lawn. The elevated outdoor heated pool available from May to the end of September will give hours of entertainment to both children and adults alike with its enclosed paved pool side being a wonderful sunny spot to relax and soak up the amazing views. Each property has its own patio area where you can enjoy an alfresco meal on a summer’s evening.

Llansteffan has a thriving local community with 2 pubs, a post office, well stocked village shop and cafe which holds themed food evenings all within walking distance, while the golden beach is less than a 5 minute walk away, explore the ruins of the 12th Century Castle overlooking the beach, or walk the coastline with its hidden coves and rock pools. For those looking for more, the excellent facilities of the County town of Carmarthen is only 8 miles away, while there is plenty to do in the area with the National Botanical Gardens nearby, Ffos Las racecourse holds monthly fixtures and Laugharne, the home of Dylan Thomas, lies a short drive to the west.

The Grove is ideal for individuals or the perfect holiday base for larger gatherings of friends and families looking for a group of cottages in a wonderful location.

First Floor: Acessed via steps and walkway to open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, 2 steps down to shower room/whb/wc.

Parking: 1 space in shared car park.

Facilities: Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV, DVD player, radio/CD/cassette player, towels for hire at £5 per person, per week, patio furniture. Shared use of outdoor heated pool - available from May to end of Sept.

The Grove properties (43214-16) are approached from the main road running through the village up a steep tarmac drive. There is a level car park to the left of the drive big enough for 4 cars and is in close proximity to the Barn. From the car park, there are 2 steps onto a wooden walkway which takes you to the door. There is one space in shared car park for the barn. There is one step to get into the Barn and entry is on the first floor into the living area. The first floor is an open plan solid wood floor living, dining and kitchen area. It is spacious, light and airy. The oven is low-level. From the kitchen area there is a step into a small hall and then into a bathroom containing a toilet, shower and sink. The wood stairs lead downstairs from this hallway, of which there are 13 steps. There is one double en suite bedroom and one twin bedroom on the ground floor. Both have wooden floors. The double bedroom opens up onto the tarmac drive. The en suite bathroom has a bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin. The grounds have definite boundaries which are not necessarily totally animal proof. There are gates at the bottom of the drive which are left open. There are areas of flat lawn as well as inclined lawns. There are paths most of which are uneven.There are steps leading to different areas, some of which are uneven. Part of the garden is quite steep and there may be areas with steep drops. Outside lights on the driveway are activated at dusk as well as various PIR activated lights situated around the car parks, drive and access into and out of the properties. The pool is accessed up a steep, but short pathway and some steep concrete paths. The area around the pool is paved and level.
